UNMC community partners plan summer events

UNMC’s community partners are ready to help UNMC faculty, staff and students enjoy the summer. Below are the special events  UNMC families can take part in.

Durham's dinosaurs

Stomp on down to The Durham Museum this summer for all things dinosaurs. Uncover dinosaur facts and fossils with the museum’s new exhibit "Dinosaur Revolution: Live Large," which is currently open and will run all summer long. Every Wednesday throughout the exhibit, the museum will read aloud a dinosaur-themed book followed by a craft. There will be new books and crafts, so participants can come back for new adventures week after week. All ages are welcome to attend. Registration not required. The Durham Museum provides free museum admission for UNMC employees, students and their immediate family with a valid identification badge.

Gnome roam

At Lauritzen Gardens, enjoy the Great Gnome Escape. These tiny statured, pointy hatted and bearded garden staples have broken loose and taken up residency in the garden. Visitors can explore the trails and try to complete the scavenger hunt to find them all. Garden admission required.

In addition to the featured summer happenings, be sure to take a look at UNMC's discount program webpage to see the new discounts for memberships, restaurants, entertainment and more that are offered to all UNMC community members.

Please note: Not all events offer a UNMC discount.
