Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) will be disabling the legacy browser as June 2022 security updates are rolled out to all customers. The default Microsoft web browser Edge (which is based on the Google Chrome engine) has been deployed to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine workstations for well over two years without issue. Users do not need to perform any actions for this switch.
If colleagues manage any web-based applications that use legacy Internet Explorer 11, it is important that they test and verify that the application works in Edge or Chrome. Additionally, please reach out to IT, and IT colleagues can help to ensure that site has IE legacy compatibility mode enabled for your specific website. Please submit an IT ticket for further details or information on this process.
