Since 2005.
What made you chose to become the program director?
Becoming program director was part of my recruitment package to UNMC after fellowship training. We did not have a program, despite many internal medicine residents choosing to become rheumatologists. Dr. James O'Dell asked me to come back to UNMC to start the program.
What are the strengths of your training program?
We have a top-down commitment to education. Dr. O'Dell and everyone in our division is fully invested in the success of each of our fellows and our program.Our programmatic successes are a group win!
List some accomplishments that you are proud of:
- 100% board pass rate since program inception.
- We have fellows who are in successful careers in academics, private practice (both rural and urban) and industry.
Tell us three things about you that others may not know:
- I love travel.
- I play pickleball.
- I want to visit every Blue Zone in my goal to make it to 100 years old.
