The University of Nebraska Medical Center Alumni Association (UNMCAA) and the College of Allied Health Professions Alumni Council are excited to announce their 2022 award recipients.
"Through their patient care, research, teaching, community service, and beyond, they are leaders in their professions, organizations, and communities. It is an honor for us to recognize them. They are role models for current and future healthcare professionals," said Kat Hamilton, associate director of the UNMCAA and liaison to the alumni council. "We are very proud of these individuals and all they have done to improve the lives of others."
The 2022 alumni award recipients include:
- Peter Hunt, physician assistant 2000, Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Mark Aksamit, physician assistant 2013, Early Career Achievement Award
- Randy Wobig, radiography 1987 and sonography 1988, Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Jan Tompkins, master of public health 2004 and medical technology 1972, Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Troy Matthias, cytotechnology 2000, Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Lisa Black, DPT, physical therapy 1982, Distinguished Alumnus Award (DPT Creighton University, 2006)
- Kellie Gossman, DPT, 2012, Early Career Achievement Award
- Rachael Saniuk, master of perfusion science 2010, Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Mariah Kay Jackson, master of medical nutrition 2019, Early Career Achievement Award
These recipients will be recognized during an in-person Awards Reception on June 10 as a part of the College of Allied Health Professions All-College Alumni Reunion. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m., and the awards will be presented at 6:15 p.m. The presentation of awards will be streamed via Zoom.
