The UNMC Office of Global Engagement has announced the winners of its second international photo contest.
The contest had 12 faculty/staff and 21 student/resident participants, for a total of 91 photos submitted.
The international photos were judged based on originality and creativity, photographic quality and communication of culture and place. This year, the contest had four categories for submissions: Cityscapes, landscapes, people and animals, with first prize winners for each division.
"This was another year of excellent photo submissions," said Jane Meza, PhD, associate vice chancellor for global engagement. "We wanted to diversify the winners by using the categories, which also allowed for more people to take home first-place prizes."

"It is such a pleasure to organize this annual event," said Danielle Thies, international program associate. "I enjoy seeing all of the photos as they are submitted and how the judges score them. I hope the contest continues to grow in popularity and people will think of us when they travel internationally for next year’s submissions."
Awesome. Pictures speak loudly.
