Jean M. Fox, DDS, has joined the UNMC College of Dentistry as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education and Quality Assurance. In this key role, Dr. Iannadrea provides educational and administrative leadership and oversight for all clinical programs. She builds supportive relationships with departments, faculty, staff, residents and students to create optimal educational experiences and provide extraordinary person-centered care.
Dr. Fox comes to UNMC from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was an associate professor in the department of comprehensive care. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio in 1981, her master’s degree in physiology from The Ohio State University in Columbus in 1983, and her DDS from the CWRU School of Dental Medicine in 1987.
She was in private practice in Chardon, Ohio from 1987 – 2016. During this time, she served as a clinical consultant and clinical instructor at the CWRU School of Dental Medicine for various times from 1987 – 2011. Dr. Iannadrea was appointed assistant professor in 2011 and associate professor in 2021. She also has served as a clinical instructor in the department of dental hygiene at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio.
During her time at the CWRU School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Iannadrea held many administrative leadership positions, including serving as the complex case coordinator and clinical review specialist for the Office of Patient Services. She also managed multiple aspects of the comprehensive care department’s operations concerning educational programs, including coordinating activities with the college’s department of student services and office of academic affairs, developing pre-clinical and clinical faculty schedules, reviewing grades, and managing student remediation/reentry plans.
Dr. Iannadrea served as the course director or co-director of 24 comprehensive care courses. She has a wealth of experience in curriculum development, including calibration of community rotation sites, evidence-based dentistry competency examinations on the clinic floor, and an interactive course titled "Knowing Your Patient." She has held numerous leadership positions in professional organizations, including the ADEA Council of Faculties, Clinical Simulation Section and Comprehensive Care and General Dentistry Section.
Among her many honors, Dr. Iannadrea was nominated for the 2021 Case Western Reserve University Think Big Leadership Award which recognizes individuals’ creative, boundary-pushing and community-focused work.
