Webinar to discuss mental health and energy of words

Havalynn Russell, peer support specialist in the psychiatry emergency services unit at Nebraska Medicine

Havalynn Russell, peer support specialist in the psychiatry emergency services unit at Nebraska Medicine, will present a free webinar on mental health and the energy of words.

The webinar, part of the Olson Center for Women’s Health Webinar Series, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on May 10.

Russell will discuss why it’s imperative to transform the narrative from one that "fights the stigma of mental illness" to one that creates mental health awareness. She will give examples of how to create awareness of words and language used when engaged in dialogue about mental health.

Participants will learn how to develop a more strengths-based, hope-filled, recovery-focused language that invites individuals to move toward greater mental health and wellness.

Registration is required. Nursing credit is available at no cost.
