Colleagues can now shop 24/7 at the C-store located on level three of University Tower, thanks to recently installed door with a badge reader.
Regular business hours for the C-store will return to the hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and weekends 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Outside of those regular business hours, colleagues can enter by using their UNMC or Nebraska Medicine ID badge on the newly installed badge reader.
A new kiosk is in place to allow customers to scan and pay for their items and pay with their badge, debit/credit card or Sodexo gift card.
“We are very pleased to offer 24/7 service to colleagues who work overnights and weekends,” said Susan Peters, director of retail services for Nebraska Medicine Food and Nutrition Services. “This solution is a direct result of the feedback we received on our satisfaction survey last fall.”
The C-store is offering more freshly made hot food during regular business hours, including breakfast sandwiches, breakfast bowls, cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, chicken wings and macaroni and cheese. Other hot items will be offered on a rotating basis, such as sandwiches and mozzarella sticks.
New healthy grab-and-go options also are available, including gluten-free and vegan options, salads and fresh fruit.
The C-store is equipped with three surveillance cameras and data from the badge reader for safety and security.
