The UNMC community is invited to a virtual town hall Friday, March 4, at 4 p.m. to support faculty, staff and students impacted by the attacks in Ukraine.
The UNMC Wellness team of Steve Wengel, MD, Kati Cordts, PhD, and Ali DeLizza, PhD, will lead the discussion, which will include sharing campus counseling supports, reviewing self-care skills and outlining signs of stress and distress related to the unfolding events.
“We want to express our concern for those in the UNMC community affected by the unfolding events in Ukraine,” said Dr. Wengel, assistant vice chancellor for campus wellness. “We want everyone to know we are here to help.”
Dele Davies, MD, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean of graduate studies, agreed. “With the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, we recognize that this is a challenging time for our faculty, staff and students who have family members or close relatives in the region. We want to understand how we can be as supportive as we can as an organization.”
The UNMC and Nebraska Medicine community can access the event here.
