How I fell in love with ophthalmology: Preserving the wonder of vision is extremely fulfilling. Impacting the visual potential of children drives my work every day. The eye itself is an amazingly complicated structure that reveals information about the intricate workings of the human body, including the vascular and nervous systems. Ophthalmology ties in many aspects of medicine that I enjoyed, including work in the clinic, operating room, teaching and research.
