UNMC students are invited to participate in the Global Health Conference Midwest, sponsored by Creighton University. "A Path for Hope" is the theme of the event, which will be held Feb. 4-6. The popular conference features keynote speakers, panels and breakout sessions covering a range of global health topics.
The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) will pay the $15 registration fee for up to 33 UNMC students to attend the conference virtually. As UNMC is not allowing in-person events, per current COVID-19 guidelines, the free student registration is for virtual conference participation only.
The Friday and Saturday speakers, panels and breakout sessions will be live-streamed. The Sunday presentations will be offered via Zoom. Several speakers from UNMC are planned.
The conference schedule and registration information can be found at the conference website.
To take advantage of the free registration from OGE, email Sara Pirtle and indicate that you wish to register for the Global Health Conference Midwest. Identify that you are a UNMC student, along with the name of your program. The deadline to contact Pirtle is the end of the day Thursday, Jan. 27. You will be sent a code to enter at the time of registration, which will waive the registration fee. Free conference registration is limited to the first 33 requestors.
