Denim for Disabilities fundraiser runs through Feb. 4

The Meyer Foundation for Disabilities' Denim for Disabilities fundraiser will run from today through Feb. 4.

The fundraiser allows UNMC employees to wear jeans to work, if they've received their supervisor's approval. Proceeds support recreational therapy programs for adults with disabilities at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

People interested in participating should ask their supervisor for the go-ahead; jeans are not allowed in many areas because of dress codes.

Participants can coordinate a fund-raising drive for any certain area or department. Email event coordinator Carly DeBruin at MMI for questions about donations, participation stickers and packets, or call 402-559-5777.

Each day with jeans costs $1, and participants get a sticker for the day to wear in support. The fundraiser runs for 20 work days if someone is interested in offering a $20 donation to the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities.

If you're working from home and want to contribute, donations are accepted through the Walk & Roll for Disabilities website, which also raises funds for recreational therapy programs for adults with disabilities at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. Donations also are accepted through the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities website.
