Mariya Kovaleva, PhD, adult-gerontological primary care nurse practitioner.

Dr. Kovaleva honored by the UNMC College of Nursing

Mariya Kovaleva, PhD, is the inaugural recipient of the College of Nursing Faculty Practice Scholars Award. The award is designed to support faculty who are new to practice and want to integrate scholarship/research into their practice.

Faculty chosen for the program will participate in a 24-month faculty practice scholars program. As a part of this program, faculty practice scholars will receive $5,000 in pilot funding.

Dr. Kovaleva, a adult-gerontological primary care nurse practitioner, will be practicing at the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging where she also is partnering with gerontology experts exploring the impact of hospitalization as a disruption in caregiving for patients with dementia.
