Cancelled: Friday ice rink social

The ice rink social scheduled for Friday through the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine Emerging Professionals Program has been cancelled as a COVID-19 precaution. The emerging professionals group had planned the event for Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Two virtual events remain scheduled:

Jan. 25, noon, Zoom: Taking Control of your Finances

Presented by retirement counselor Tiffany Sturm, this session will emphasize the importance of taking small steps to gain control of finances now for a better financial future, how to make a budget, understanding and managing credit, strategies to pay down and avoid debt and more. Register here to receive the Zoom link and calendar invite.

Feb. 9, noon, Zoom: Optimizing your Energies for Work-Life Imbalance

Energy management is a key to thriving in life. We’re all familiar with physical energy as a renewable capacity, but how often do we consider our mental, emotional, social and spiritual health along the same lines? This session will be presented by Jerry Walker, PhD, board-certified counseling psychologist and manager of psychology services at Nebraska Medicine. Attendees will learn about what things can change or expend your "batteries," and how to optimize your lifestyle to build resilience. Register here to receive the Zoom link and calendar invite.
