UNMC Today on holiday

The Nebraska Medical Choir, under the direction of Katrina Cox, PhD, sang Christmas carols at the UNMC Ice Rink on Dec. 16.

UNMC Today will take a holiday break along with the campus and will not publish on Thursday, Friday or next week on New Year's Eve.

In the spirit of the season, we present these images from UNMC photographer Kent Sievers, who shot photos of the Nebraska Medical Choir's caroling session on campus last Thursday.

The Nebraska Medical Choir formed this year as a collaboration of UNMC, Nebraska Medicine and Children's Hospital students, staff and faculty.

The choir and Nebraska Medical Orchestra were scheduled to perform the evening before at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. It would have been the choir's public debut.

But a storm rolled through the area and cancelled the concert.

The next night, the choir came out to the UNMC Ice Rink to add caroling to the evening.
