What do you do to stay balanced? I try to take an hour or two per day for family time, even when I feel pulled in other directions. We do something fun like a pizza party or movie night once a week. I also keep detailed to-do lists and update my calendar religiously to keep organized.

Three things people may not know about me:

  • Growing up we moved every two years or so because of my dad’s job in the Navy. We lived along the entire east coast, but my favorite place we lived was a small Italian island in the middle of the Mediterranean called La Maddalena.
  • I lived in Brazil for four years while attending grad school there. For my honeymoon, we traveled to the Amazon rainforest and kayaked alongside the famous pink river dolphins.
  • I am one of eight children. We are a huge, loud, blended family. I get together with my five siblings who live in town weekly to have dinner and play board games.
