Director’s message: Looking ahead to 2022

Melonie Welsh, director of community engagement

The Munroe-Meyer Institute has always been more than a building. It’s a community.

That is its strength. Providers, staff members, students, clients and families know that when they reach out to one another, there will be support and understanding. In the past year, even through many uncertainties, that was always clear.

We’ve faced 2021 with so much resolve and perseverance that a "New Year’s resolution" seems superfluous. We embrace our mission — individually and as part of the MMI community — and in 2022, we will continue to be committed to it. As we do, we will support each other and the families we serve as we partner to transform lives.

As we look ahead to 2022, we are all fatigued from the challenges of this past year and 2020 before it. But we enter the new year with gratitude, both for what we’ve overcome together and for the possibilities that lie ahead.

We wish you a happy and healthy New Year. We are proud to be alongside you, facing the year ahead with hope and resolution.
