COVID-19 testing site change, holiday hours announced

COVID-19 saliva PCR testing at Williams Science Hall will close over the holiday break beginning Friday, Dec. 17, but free nasal testing will continue at the Nebraska Medicine Doctors Building South for asymptomatic students, staff and faculty members.

The Williams Science Hall site is anticipated to reopen for saliva testing in the spring semester. Watch UNMC Today for details.

The single location at Doctors Building South allows for more efficient use of resources, along with increased access and ample parking. Nasal swab collection is a simple, painless and quick process; it is not a nasopharyngeal test.

An appointment is required, and walk-ins are not allowed. Use this link to review available dates and times and reserve an appointment. Testing is performed by the Nebraska Public Health Lab, and results are emailed.

The Doctors Building South location will be closed for the holidays on Dec. 24, 25 and Dec. 31, and Jan. 1; otherwise, regular hours are available as listed on the registration site.

Individuals on the Omaha campus who have COVID-19 symptoms should contact Student Health (402-559-7204) or Employee Health (402-552-3563) for recommendations on testing.
