Nebraska State Sen. Rita Sanders recently visited UNMC. She met with UNMC leadership, including Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and took part in a meeting about economic development with leaders from UNeMed and UNeTech.
The senator toured the Davis Global Center, hosted by Bob Bartee, vice chancellor for external relations.

Sen. Sanders, who represents the 45th legislative district that includes Bellevue and Offutt Air Force Base, was impressed by what she saw of iEXCEL’s capabilities to educate both future and current health care professionals.
"I’m completely fascinated by how we have launched forward in technology, for better results than we’ve ever had in health care," she said.
"I’m proud to be a state senator in a state that is doing work that is so cutting edge and futuristic – or maybe not so futuristic, because it is here now.
"I am proud of the work we are doing here in Nebraska," she said.
