New e-learning teams awarded for 2021-22

2021-22 faculty and student awardees were honored at Nov. 3 ceremony.

Each year through a competitive application process, the UNMC Office of E-Learning awards faculty and student teams for the creation of online, interactive modules. The 18 teams selected for 2020-21 were recognized at the E-Learning Awards Meeting on Nov. 3. The projects will receive funding provided by the senior vice chancellor for academic affairs.

"This year was one of the most competitive we've had," said Peggy Moore, director of e-learning and assistant professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions. "As more faculty and students require high-quality, asynchronous resources, the demand for e-learning materials across campus has grown — particularly as COVID-19 continues to shift the way teaching and learning occurs."

The 2021-22 cohort features 76 individuals and includes three interprofessional teams and representatives from Kearney, Lincoln and Omaha. The new awardees join a group of more than 550 individuals who have already participated in the E-Learning Program and created 260 e-modules, most of which are available on the UNMC E-Gallery.

"The program offers a unique opportunity for students and faculty to work together alongside our instructional design and technology experts to create engaging e-modules that benefit the UNMC learning community and beyond," Moore said. "We are also excited to have more resources to help our development teams, including the updated e-learning lab and the new EZStudio."

Teams will demonstrate the new e-modules at the e-learning showcase scheduled for April 2022. To learn more about the services offered by the Office of E-Learning, email or call 402-559-8251.
