Nebraska State Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh toured UNMC earlier this month.
Sen. Cavanaugh, who represents central and northwest Omaha’s District 6 in the Nebraska Unicameral, toured the new Munroe-Meyer Institute building and the Davis Center for Global Health. She met with UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and other university leaders.
Touring the iEXCEL facilities, Sen. Cavanaugh said: "It’s beautiful and just such an amazing asset to have here. The ability to use this technology to teach students, especially in this time of heightened medical needs, to have this kind of access in Nebraska is really quite amazing."
Sen. Cavanaugh had kind words for the people of the med center community.
"I appreciate the work that everyone at UNMC is doing to help further health care in Nebraska and across the country and the world. And I’m happy to be a partner in helping elevate that and make sure we have the resources needed to continue."
