Jeff Robb has joined UNMC’s Department of Strategic Communications as the new UNMC Today Publications Editor.
Robb, a native of Omaha, has spent the last 23 years of his career with the Omaha World-Herald, where he focused on telling stories from around the Omaha metropolitan area.
He has written about development issues in Omaha, followed UNMC’s expansion in recent years and kept up with plans for what’s next on campus. During the coronavirus pandemic, he often reported on issues vitally important to UNMC and interviewed UNMC experts.
Robb said he’s excited to tell the stories about UNMC and its people more directly.
"UNMC has such a presence in this community and this state," he said. "I can’t wait to learn more about UNMC every day and hear about all the fascinating people here."
As UNMC Today’s editor, Robb will be responsible for curating the daily newsletter and will write articles from around the campus. He also will work closely with the Munroe-Meyer Institute. If you have an idea for a story, reach out through this link.
Robb, 48, is married to wife DeDra — a survivor of metastatic breast cancer for nearly nine years — and they have three children from college to middle-school age. He is a lifelong "Star Wars" fan, but his family are Marvel movie fanatics. He follows baseball, likes data and plays fantasy baseball.
Robb replaces John Keenan, who became the senior manager of media and content in the UNMC Department of Strategic Communications in April.
