UNMC Speaker’s Bureau now features Buffett Cancer Center experts

Shinobu Watanabe-Galloway, PhD

Experts from the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center are now available to present to interested community groups, health care organizations, public health departments and K-12 schools and universities on cancer-related topics through the UNMC Speaker’s Bureau.

“This is an opportunity to increase engagement between community organizations and UNMC faculty and staff," said Shinobu Watanabe-Galloway, PhD, associate director, Buffett Cancer Center Community Outreach & Engagement Office.

Experts in surgical oncology, cancer survivorship, social work and research will share their knowledge through webinars or Zoom presentations.

Topics range from prevention and early detection to the most common types of cancers impacting people today, to clinical studies and research.

"Once a request is submitted, we will work to tailor the presentations to the specific topic of interest along with identifying the appropriate speaker to give the presentation," Dr. Watanabe-Galloway said.

Those interested in having a guest speaker should contact the UNMC speaker's bureau at least one month prior to their event, by filling out the speaker request form. Requests are subject to the availability of our guest speakers.
