A 15-member committee has been formed to begin a formal search for UNMC’s new vice chancellor for business, finance and business development.
UNMC’s H. Dele Davies, MD, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean for graduate studies, will chair the search committee, which includes representation from across the medical center, as well as the NU Office of the President and community.
The committee is charged with finding a successor to Doug Ewald, who has stepped down to serve as executive associate athletic director/chief financial officer for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s athletic department. Ewald had served in the high-profile role — which spanned both the UNMC and University of Nebraska at Omaha campus — since 2018. The search will focus on a new vice chancellor for business, finance and business development for the UNMC campus.
In addition to Dr. Davies, search committee members include:
- Michael Ash, MD, vice chancellor for information & technology for UNMC and vice president and chief transformation officer for Nebraska Medicine
- Bob Bartee, vice chancellor for external relations, UNMC
- Jennifer Bartholomew, vice president and associate vice chancellor, Facilities Management for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine
- David Brown, president and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber
- Stephanie Daubert, chief financial officer, Nebraska Medicine
- Michael Dixon, PhD, president and CEO, UNeMed
- Charlotte Evans, assistant vice chancellor and chief of police, UNMC and UNO Public Safety
- Anthony Goins, director, Nebraska Department of Economic Development
- Janet Guthmiller, DDS, PhD, dean, UNMC College of Dentistry
- Chris Kabourek, vice president for business and finance, chief financial officer, University of Nebraska
- Mike McGlade, senior associate dean for administration and director of finance, UNMC College of Medicine
- Dan Shipp, EdD, vice chancellor for student success in academic affairs, UNMC
- Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director, Human Resources, UNMC and UNO
- Anne Bowen, senior assistant to the chancellor and search committee support, UNMC
The search committee will be charged by Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, with finding a successor and meet frequently thereafter to discuss next steps including reviewing and formalizing a job description, considering the use of a national search firm and creating a website related to the job search.
