Claire Raabe, UNMC College of Nursing Kearney Division student, takes Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts' blood pressure.

Fifty-eight students from the UNMC College of Nursing Kearney and Lincoln divisions provided more than 1,000 blood pressure screenings and more than 450 skin cancer screenings during the recent three-day Husker Harvest Days event in Grand Island.

In addition, some visitors stopped by the nursing booth to test out a game with virtual reality headsets that allowed users to drive around a virtual farm on a tractor and complete objectives while trying to avoid a rollover. The game is part of an agricultural grant the UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln and Kearney divisions are working on with a University of Nebraska-Lincoln computer science and engineering senior design team. The grant was funded by Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health at the UNMC College of Public Health, to develop a virtual reality game that will simulate tractor driving and teach users how to operate farming vehicles safely.
