Nebraska State Sen. Eliot Bostar, who represents District 29 in Lincoln, visited UNMC in August to meet with university leaders and tour campus locations such as the Davis Global Center.
During his visit, Sen. Bostar met with Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and members of the UNMC College of Public Health, including Eleanor Rogan, PhD, chair of the UNMC Department of Health and Environment. Sen. Bostar has worked in conservation.
At the Davis Global Center, he toured the iEXCEL program, including a stop in the Davis Global Center Holographic Theater and Five-Sided Laser Cave.
"There’s so much happening here," Sen. Bostar said. "It’s really impressive to be able to see just how comprehensive the work that’s going on here is, from the education to the simulation and clinical work, to the research as well — very impressive. There is technology being utilized that I wouldn’t have guessed existed.
"I am looking forward to being able to do whatever I can to support the terrific partnership between the state government and the work being done here at UNMC."
