How I fell in love with dentistry:

My pediatric dentist was awesome — Dr. Bill Best in Lincoln. I originally wanted to be a physical therapist, but one day my dad asked why I didn't consider dentistry. I hadn't because at the time there were very few female dentists.

Education:

  • DDS, UNMC College of Dentistry, 1988
  • Residency, general practice, UNMC College of Dentistry, 1989
  • Certificate, endodontics, University of Iowa, 2003
  • MS, oral science, University of Iowa, 2004

Professional memberships:

  • American Association of Endodontics
  • American Board of Endodontics, College of Diplomates
  • American Dental Association
  • American Dental Education Association
  • International College of Dentists
  • Iowa Dental Association

Three things people may not know about me:

  • Murder mysteries and thrillers are my favorite book genre.
  • I love kickboxing.
  • I recently finished a six-year term as a director of the American Board of Endodontics.
