As the redesign of unmc.edu continues, a new web style guide has been developed and is now available.
The guide outlines the new page templates and components that will be used in the new design and explains their use. It also provides guidelines for writing for the web, along with best practices for accessibility, search engine optimization and readability, among other topics.
The web style guide is a critical aspect of maintaining a consistent and dynamic style across all UNMC web pages, said Stacie Hamel, director of projects and digital strategy in the UNMC Department of Strategic Communications. Web content developers will be assigned to online training modules before they are given access to the new design in the content management system, following the site migration schedule.
Among the modules will be a web style guide review and agreement.
The style guide is available to view on the UNMC brand site. All updates to the guide will be made there.
