Registration now is open for the 2021 Midwest Radiation Oncology Symposium, a hybrid symposium that will be hosted by UNMC on Aug. 20-21.
The hybrid symposium will provide all members of interdisciplinary oncology teams with education and training on recent advances in radiation oncology, physics and biology. Topics will include the role of radiation therapy in multidisciplinary cancer care and up-to-date information for referring physicians seeking to transfer their patients to the oncology team.
Keynote speakers will be:
- Lisa Kachnic, MD, professor and Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair Emeritus of the radiation oncology department of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Dr. Kachnic’s presentation is titled “Are We Moving the Field Forward in the Management of Anal Canal Cancer?”
- Julianne Pollard-Larkin, PhD, physics section chief of thoracic service in the division of radiation oncology and department of radiation physics-patient care at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. Dr. Pollard-Larkin’s presentation is titled “How Can We Lead the Way for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in STEM?”
