Colleagues walking between University Tower and Wittson Hall will see signs reminding them of the mask policy on the UNMC and Nebraska Medical Center campus. Nebraska Medicine and UNMC policy requires masks in all areas within the hospitals and clinical areas, even for those who have received a COVID vaccination. (This includes, but is not limited to, wards, clinics, hallways, elevators, lounges, dining areas — except while eating — and garages). The signs will remind people coming from the non-clinical areas in Wittson Hall to the hospital that masks are required.
Masks are required in Poynter Hall, which contains clinical offices and/or clinical services.
Masks also are required in Bennett Hall in all areas that have clinical offices and/or clinical services. In Bennett Hall floors three through six, masks are not required for fully vaccinated individuals since these are not clinical in nature. In addition:
- Mask mandates remain in effect for all individuals who are NOT fully vaccinated.
- Immunocompromised individuals, likewise, should continue to mask.
- Vaccinated individuals who desire to minimize their risk may also continue to mask.
- Masks are not required in private offices.
- Masks will continue to be required for all visiting/rotating students and all non-fully vaccinated faculty, staff and UNMC students in research buildings other than offices or small conference rooms.
