UNMC began the rollout of its new web design for unmc.edu today. The redesign launched on a handful of web pages, including:
- The front page and the landing pages (linked from the
horizontal row of tabs); and - The Munroe-Meyer Institute front page (where you can watch the ribbon cutting livestream today).
Of special note are five multimedia stories – a new feature for the website – that are linked from the front page. This new feature combines text, video, photos, graphics and other designs to tell UNMC’s stories in greater depth. Stories will be added periodically, covering the areas of research, education, community and UNMC values.
This begins a rollout of the new web design over the next 12 months that eventually will include all of UNMC’s 150+ sub-sites. The next page to move to the new design will be the Global Center for Health Security site later this month. More will publish in August after the accreditation quiet period.
“Our team is working hard to bring the vision of a more visual, usable and inclusive website to life, in close concert with the designers at mStoner,” said Stacie Hamel, director of projects and digital strategy in the UNMC Department of Strategic Communications. “We’re excited to unveil the first pieces of it.”
Strategic Communications and its web design firm, mStoner, continue work to finalize the full inventory of templates that will be available to sub-sites, to compile training sessions, and to work with teams throughout UNMC to audit and update content.
The UNMC community can follow updates about the web redesign and plans for migrating subsites on UNMC’s Sharepoint.
Looks very nice, but please put the Quick links back at the bottom of the page. Faculty used them to quickly get to email and Canvas.
Thank you for your comment. The same links are available through the Faculty & Staff link at the top right of the front page. You also can go directly to the UNMC intranet, info.unmc.edu, for Quick Links.
