The UNMC Board of Counselors recently held its annual meeting, naming new officers, welcoming 12 new members and reappointing others who continue to serve.
The board – a group of 85 community and business leaders from Nebraska and beyond – advises UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, on health care issues of importance.
Weysan Dun, owner, Dun Global Solutions Group, Omaha, will serve as chairperson and Emiliano Lerda, JD, vice president, Paul G Smith Associates, Omaha, will serve as vice-chairperson.
New board members are:
Ainsworth – Debora Weiss, medical technologist, Brown County Hospital
Bennington – Shawn Oswald, president and general manager, KETV Channel 7
Hastings – David Rippe, owner, Queen City Development Company
Lincoln – Tom Beckius, owner, Nebraska Brokerage; Victoria Grasso, president, Cooper Foundation; Ava Thomas, president and publisher, Lincoln Journal Star
Omaha – Stuart Dornan, JD, partner, Dornan, Troia, Howard, Breitkreutz & Conway; Amanda McGill Johnson, executive director, Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures; Darcy Michalek, owner and managing member, Garbo’s Salon & Spa, Taco Johns and Subway; Donald Neal Jr., senior tax manager, KPMG; Sherie Thomas, captain, Omaha Police Department; Albert Varas, CEO, Latino Center of the Midlands
