Tell us a bit about your professional experience.
Most recently, I worked at the University of Wisconsin’s Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, Wis., as the executive assistant to the center’s director. I had lived in Madison since 1999 and was a fulltime mom for 20 years before going back to work. My degree is in anthropology.
What drew you to medicine?
My mom was a nurse for 45 years, and my sister—who went to medical school at UNMC—is now a pediatrician in Lincoln. I love that I can be a part of what provided their education.
When you’re not at work, what are you doing?
I moved back to Omaha to be closer to family, and my partner, Don. I have three grown boys who are spread out from coast to coast, pursuing their dreams. I love to ski, read, do yoga, take walks and go out with friends.
