Pain Management

What made you chose to become the program director?

Since our previous fellowship was retired, I had the opportunity to apply for the fellowship through ACMGE and create the structure from the ground up. I wanted to develop a flexible program that could accommodate different trainee needs.

The demand for good training continues to rise. I wish we had more positions every year to accommodate the excellent applicants.

We teach our fellows a balance of non-invasive pain treatments as well as interventional injections and surgical skills.

List some accomplishments that you are proud of:

With the help of our strong graduate medical education department here at UNMC, getting our program approved by ACGME with the first application.

Tell us three things about you that others may not know:

  • I just received my board certification in addiction medicine.
  • I work so that I can ski.
  • As a former resident of Oregon, I do have a killer granola recipe.
