UNMC GRIT series set to end with celebratory event

Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director of human resources, will speak at Wednesday's event.

Administrative Professionals’ Day is Wednesday.

To mark the event, UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha will hold a virtual celebration Wednesday via Zoom from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The theme this year, “‘GRIT,” is an acronym for “growth, resilience, inspiration and tenacity.” The first three attributes were celebrated in a series of monthly one-hour meetings, and during Wednesday’s event, Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director of human resources for UNMC and UNO, will present on the final topic, “Tenacity.”

“We are pleased that both campuses came together for and enjoyed these events,” said Linda Cunningham, associate director of human resources. “In response to the dynamic synergy that has been established during these event, a Teams group for all UNMC/UNO administrative professionals has been created.”

Following Warren’s presentation, entertainment will be provided by Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. The event also will have prizes and giveaways. Register and attend via Zoom for a chance to win. The planning committee thanked the groups that sponsored prizes, including the UNO Bookstore, UNO Staff Advisory Council and UNMC/UNO Human Resources.

All administrative professionals should have received an invitation via the Bridge platform. Those who have not can register through Bridge. Videos and handouts from the previous sessions also can be found in Bridge.

There is a group/SharePoint called "UNMC Assistants" that has been around for a few years now that administrative assistants can join. You can contact me or search on Office 365 for the group to join.
