UNMC Residency Symposium set for May 1

The UNMC American Medical Association Chapter invites all medical students to its Residency Symposium on May 1 from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The virtual event is designed to educate medical students on how to apply and interview for residencies, go through the matching process and explore different specialties within medicine. The biennial symposium will provide information that is not part of the traditional medical school curriculum.

Patrice Harris, MD, immediate past president of the AMA, will provide the keynote address. In addition, UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, will welcome attendees, who will have the opportunity to hear panel discussions by faculty members and students, as well as join breakout sessions on various medical specialties.

Registration is $15. Students who register by April 18 will receive a Grubhub certificate.
