College of Nursing to host its annual charitable drive for ovarian cancer

The College of Nursing is hosting its 2021 Annual Charitable March 24-31 Drive to benefit the NU Foundation’s Betty J. and Charles D. McKinsey Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The fund is dedicated in memory of Jill Thewke, who was a college employee, and others affected by ovarian cancer.

The drive is being promoted by the college’s General Staff Organization Membership & Engagement Committee.

The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2020, about 21,750 new cases of ovarian cancer will be diagnosed and 13,940 women will die of ovarian cancer in the United States.

The college’s goal is to raise $1,500. As of March 24, $334 had been donated. If you are interested in helping, donate through the NU Foundation.
