Kelsie Cabrera, DO, to speak at next Olson Center event

Kelsie Cabrera, DO

Kelsie Cabrera, DO, assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, will speak at the next Olson Center for Women’s Health Brown Bag Lecture series, discussing osteopathic manipulative treatment for the OB/GYN patient.

Dr. Cabrera will speak from noon-1 p.m. March 16 online.

Osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT, is a set of hands-on techniques used by osteopathic physicians (DOs) to diagnose, treat and prevent illness or injury. Using OMT, a DO moves a patient’s muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. Many conditions can affect one’s musculoskeletal system, and pregnancy can sometimes make women physically uncomfortable. OMT can offer relief specifically to pregnancy.

Pre-register for the event by emailing Candyce Dunlap, calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345, or on Engage.

Viewing directions will be given to registrants prior to the brown bag presentation.

This lecture is free. The cost to obtain nursing credit is $10. Payment instructions will be given at preregistration. Nursing credit only can be obtained for watching the livestream of the virtual presentation, not for viewing the recording after the event.
