UNMC will hold in-person commencement

UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, preparing for the December 2020 virtual commencement ceremony.

UNMC will hold de-densified, in-person commencement ceremonies for May graduates at each of its five campuses.

Details for the May ceremonies in Kearney, Lincoln, Norfolk, Scottsbluff and Omaha will be released as they are confirmed, and as UNMC fully understands restrictions for each location and how it might limit the number of guests permitted onsite per graduate.

UNMC leaders remain committed to protecting the health and safety of the university community, as well as the community at-large, while safely celebrating the accomplishments of its graduates. Attendees will be asked to wear a mask, follow adequate physical distancing and stay home if, on the day of the event, they (or a member of their household) is sick.

UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, will confer the degrees to candidates from all colleges, and each ceremony will be livestreamed.

Details will be shared in UNMC Today and posted on the commencement website.

Due to the pandemic, last year’s commencement ceremonies were held virtually.
