I am pursuing anesthesiology because: Anesthesiology allows me to care for and participate in some of the most crucial times in people's lives. Whether I am taking someone to the OR for a heart transplant or taking someone's child to the OR for ear tubes it is a privilege to care for them in the perioperative period. In addition, no two days are the same and I enjoy the challenge of providing compassionate care in every situation.
In my time here, I have most enjoyed: The people. My faculty and colleagues are friendly and truly care about me improving as a clinician and as a person. Omaha has grown so much since I moved here eight years ago, and pre-pandemic I enjoyed the restaurant scene and outdoor activities surrounding Omaha.
Three things you may not know about me are:
- I volunteered at a treatment center for patients with HIV/AIDS in Brazil for two years prior to medical school.
- I ran my family’s restaurant and grew up working in the kitchen.
- In my free time I enjoy doing Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
