Editor’s Note: Nebraska Medicine posted the following update on patient vaccinations on Friday, Jan. 29
As communicated earlier, area health departments will be responsible for coordinating all local vaccinations. Nebraska Medicine will not receive doses for patients at this time.
Here is the latest information we’ve received:
- Douglas County has scheduled community vaccination clinics, beginning Tuesday, Feb 2. for residents age 80 or older
- Those who qualify can schedule online now through the Douglas County Health Department – COVID-19 vaccine scheduler or by calling 402.444.3400
- We are advising patients in Douglas County who are 80 or older to schedule an appointment
- Douglas County will open up scheduling to those who are age 65 to 79 in the coming weeks; we advise those patients to register for notification through the county and schedule an appointment when they are notified
- There are four locations for the Douglas County community clinics, including the Nebraska Medicine Testing and Vaccine Clinic (144th and Millard Ave.) which will host clinics Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Thursday, Feb. 4.
- Those who qualify can schedule online now through the Douglas County Health Department – COVID-19 vaccine scheduler or by calling 402.444.3400
- The Nebraska registration system also is live as of Friday, Jan. 29
- All Nebraska residents can register at https://vaccinate.ne.gov or by phone at 833.998.2275
- They will be notified when they can schedule an appointment
- Anyone who has previously registered through their county does not need to re-register through the state, with the exception of people age 18-64 with underlying health conditions. Those individuals should sign up in the state registration system even if they’ve already registered with their county
- We are advising all patients younger than 65 and those who live outside of Douglas County to register through the state system
