Administrative Professionals series focuses on ‘GRIT’

Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director of human resources for UNMC and UNO, will speak as part of the Administrative Professionals GRIT series.

UNMC wants to see your GRIT.

The Administrative Professionals Day Planning Committee wants to create greater engagement and synergy among administrative professionals on both the UNMC and University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campuses.

“This year’s Administrators Professionals Day Virtual Celebration is the perfect catalyst,” said Linda Cunningham, associate director of human resources. “The theme this year, ‘GRIT,’ is an acronym for growth, resilience, inspiration and tenacity.”

To explore the four characteristics of GRIT, a one-hour presentation is planned for each month from January to April. These presentations will lead up to the culminating event on Administrative Professionals Day in April, with guest speaker Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director of human resources for UNMC and UNO. She will present on the final topic: “T for Tenacity.”

Phil Covington, EdD, associate vice chancellor for student success at UNMC and UNO, will kick off the GRIT series on Jan. 26 at noon via Zoom with a presentation on the first topic: “G for Growth.” Other featured speakers over the next two months will include Tara Rye, DEdMin, and UNMC’s Perris Scott. All presentations will be virtual via Zoom.

Administrative professionals should have received an invitation via the Bridge platform. Those who have not can register through Bridge or email Giovanni Jones. If you would like to join the Administrative Professionals Day 2022 Planning Committee, please contact Jones or co-chair Catherine Hughes-Rose.
