Symptomatic colleagues who also are patients can request testing in One | Chart

Select E-visit from the web version of One Chart | Patient, at left, or the mobile app, at right.

For Nebraska Medicine and UNMC colleagues who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and have an account on One Chart | Patient, they can now submit an electronic request to be tested, instead of calling Employee Health.

Colleagues who do not have an account in One Chart | Patient and are experiencing symptoms must call Employee Health at 402-552-3563 to be tested.

Here’s how it works.

  • Log into your One Chart | Patient account
  • Select “menu” on the left-hand side
  • Select “E-visits”
  • Select the tile labeled “NM/UNMC Employee Only”
  • Proceed through the screening questions

Once completed, Employee Health will evaluate your submission and if you qualify, you will receive a message within One Chart | Patient to select a time to be scheduled for a test. If you do not qualify, you will be notified in One Chart | Patient.

Employee Health will strive to review and respond to E-visit requests within two hours, during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends. E-visit requests received after hours will be evaluated after 8 a.m. the next day.

Testing is offered at no charge to colleagues who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. There is a separate process for asymptomatic colleagues and their family members to be tested.

All COVID-19 testing is performed at the Universal Swab Center, 5710 S. 144th Street in Omaha. If you do not live in Omaha or do not wish to drive to Omaha to be tested, you will not be allowed to complete the E-visit request and must call Employee Health.

The PCR test results usually are back within 24 to 48 hours. You can review guidance from Employee Health on the COVID-19 Infectious Disease NOW site.

This service is only for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees, and does not include UNMC students.
