UNMC’s Dr. Alonso named fellow of Heart Failure Society of America
Windy Alonso, PhD, an assistant professor in the College of Nursing-Omaha Division, has been named as a fellow of the Heart Failure Society of America. The society is the most distinguished designation the Heart Failure Society of America bestows upon its membership. She is one of 128 members with this distinction. The designation is a recognition of outstanding credentials, achievements in heart failure medicine and other disciplines and contributions to society. She will be recognized during the society’s annual scientific meeting in Colorado in September 2021. At UNMC, Dr. Alonso is building a program of research focused on understanding, managing, and improving the global symptom experience of individuals with heart failure.
New clinic opens in Bellevue for ear, nose and throat care
Nebraska Medicine ear, nose and throat specialists have opened a new clinic on level one of the Bellevue Health Center. It’s a move designed to offer greater access for patients in the area who suffer from allergies, sinus problems, dizziness or hearing loss.
“I’m thrilled to offer our team’s expertise to the Bellevue area,” said Timothy Knudsen, MD, otolaryngologist. “From tinnitus to tonsillitis, we treat all kinds of ear, nose and throat issues with treatments designed precisely for each individual. We care for patients from birth to over 100 years old.”
