Internal medicine is a three-year program. I am currently in my third year of training.
What do you like the most about your training program?
The aspect of our program that I enjoy most is definitely the people. Our faculty members are very enthusiastic about teaching and provide a collegial and fun learning environment. Also, my fellow residents are a phenomenal group of individuals who have become some of my best friends both inside and outside of work.
What challenges do you foresee in graduate medical education in the future?
Training an adequate number of physicians to care for our rising population, specifically in the primary care sector.
List some accomplishments that you are proud of:
- Becoming an upcoming chief resident for 2021
- Multiple poster/abstract presentations at national conferences, including being a National ACP poster winner
- Balancing the roles of resident, wife, and mother during residency
Tell us three things about you that others may not know:
- In my free time, I enjoy baking, playing golf, and spending time with my family.
- I was an all-state tennis player in high school
- My two dogs, a beagle and basset hound, were insta-famous for a short period of time during my fourth year of medical school.
