How I fell in love with pediatric infectious diseases (ID): Growing up in Ecuador, I had a deep understanding of the morbidity and mortality related to infectious diseases and its impact on the health of an entire population. I really like the versatility of ID, from playing a “detective” role in the clinical setting to taking care of public health issues or managing a global pandemic. There is never a dull moment in ID.
