How long is your training program, and how long have you been at UNMC? It’s a five-year program, and I am in year four.

What do you like the most about your training program? I enjoy the camaraderie of the resident group the most. They are incredible people.

List some accomplishments that you are proud of: I’m very proud of my relationship with my wife, Stephanie. We are high school sweethearts and have been together for over 14 years (married for four years in January). I’m proud of the resident team and culture that’s been maintained here. I feel like I get to go to work with my friends every day.

Tell us three things about you that others may not know:

  • I’m an avid hunter (deer and turkeys) and hockey player in my free time.
  • We have a zoo of pets at our house:
    • Two dogs — Reuben (Bernese Mountain Dog) and George (Mastiff/Doberman).
    • Four kitties — Hammy, Beefcake (brown tabby — currently missing), Baby Swiss and Kitten
    • One gecko — Cucumber Carl
    • One axololt — Lotl
  • I also like to name our house plants/cactuses: Cactus Joe, Brenda, Prickle Rick, Bubble Buddy, Terrence (aka Nubby T) and Floyd.
