Due to repairs, the west stairs of Parking Lot 50 will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 4 thru Saturday, Nov. 7.
Archie Carpenter, project manager, UNMC Facilities Management and Planning, said repairs are necessary because spalling on a number of stair treads have made some steps unsafe. As a result, the west stairs, which lead to Emile Street, will close Wednesday morning for necessary maintenance. While inconvenient, the repairs will make the stairs safer for the upcoming winter months, Carpenter said.
In lieu of using the stairs, he suggests individuals:
- Use the east stairs of Lot 50 to Level “B” and exit the stairs at Emile Street.
- Cross Lot 17 to Saddle Creek Road and cross Emile Street at the signals.
