The UNMC College of Medicine will hold its annual Campus Research Retreat Nov. 10-11 to strengthen collaboration of basic and clinical researchers and foster translational research.
This year’s virtual event, organized jointly by the COM Research & Development Committee and Great Plains IDeA-CTR, is open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students interested in translational research.
The keynote speaker will be Michael Snyder, PhD, of Stanford University, who will present “Talk: Big Data and Health.”
Dr. Snyder is the Stanford Ascherman Professor and chair of genetics and the director of the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine. He is a leader in the field of functional genomics and multiomics, and one of the major participants of the ENCODE project. His laboratory study was the first to perform a large-scale functional genomics project in any organism, and has developed many technologies in genomics and proteomics.
View the schedule for the two-day retreat and register online by Friday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. CDT.
