Arbor Family Counseling blog offers tips of fighting election-related stress

Arbor Family Counseling, which provides counseling assistance to UNMC employees through the Employee Assistance Program, has a blog that addresses issues that may be cause for concern to members of the UNMC community. Past topics on the blog have included “COVID-19 and your safety,” “Budgeting 101” and “Concerns about a co-worker.” The newest blog entry deals with the 2020 election, offering tips for overcoming any stress the election may be causing. Physician assistant program holds annual nut sale

The College of Allied Health Professions’ physician assistant class of 2022 is selling nuts (pecans, cashews, almonds, peanuts, etc.) in one-pound bags to help the students raise money for national conferences, community involvement, student representatives and other expenses. To limit exposure and maintain safety, this years’ fundraiser will be moved to an online format. Members of the UNMC community who are interested in purchasing can do so by filling out this online form. Orders can be picked up at the Sorrell Center, on the second floor near the skywalk. Orders placed by Nov. 6 will have pickup options of Nov. 19, 20, 23 and 24 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Orders placed by Nov. 27 will have pickup options of Dec. 8, 9, 10 and 11 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

42nd Street to close on campus Nov. 7

UNMC facilities will close 42nd Street from Dewey Avenue to Emile Street on Saturday, Nov. 7, for work on Wittson Hall. Detours will be marked, and the work is expected to take only one day.
